Architect Hernan Diaz Alonso makes a case for an aesthetic of disorder, whose beauty is born of excess and includes both ugliness and monstrosity. His process is based on logics of "pollution" and mutation of form, provoqued by artificial and natural interactions. His approach claims to be liberated from all canons, all allegiances, all utility, allowing him to achieve an aesthetic based on pleasure and curiosity, but also on a kind of earnest commitment, like children's games.
This work was created in relation with the collective installation "The Architectural Beast" (2019) curated by Hernan Diaz Alonso.
