Ruy Klein (David Ruy, Karel Klein)

Notre-Dame de la Tourette, 2019

This image was digitally generated by fusing the shape of Sainte-Marie de la Tourette, designed by Le Corbusier, with the style of Notre-Dame de Reims. It is part of a wider research project on the status of the author of images in the era of artificial intelligence. Ruy Klein imagines a future replacement of human by machine in the capacity to interpret information. What then will become of artistic production and the idea of the author when automation has won out in the creative economy?

This work was created to be part of the collective installation  "The Architectural Beast" (2019) curated by Hernan Diaz Alonso.
