Tom Wiscombe

National Museum of Writing, 2017

This project combines different aesthetic references to create an indeterminacy, taking us out of the ordinary and inviting us to think and act in a more random way. The forms of the museum combine volumes inspired by the fortifications of a castle with a tectonics referring to pictographs. Its silhouette evokes both a little city and toys for giants, with rounded megalithic forms. The architecture seems to be levitating, in contrast to its apparent heaviness. For Tom Wiscombe, it escapes, in this way, the expectations of the real world to open itself to the imagination.

This work was created to be part of the collective installation  "The Architectural Beast" (2019) curated by Hernan Diaz Alonso.
